Veterinary Technicians and Assistants

Barbara Kellander — Certified Veterinary Technician

Barbara has been working in the veterinary field since 2013. She attended Pierpont Community & Technical Collage in Fairmont, WV and graduated in May 2013 with an A.A.S. in veterinary technology. She passed her VTNE in August of 2013 and became an RVT in WV. She moved to Arizona in 2014 and became a CVT in the winter of 2014.

She has always loved animals and can’t imagine life without them. She loves to spend time with her family and 2 rescue dogs; Loula her Corgi/Heeler Mix and Titus her Great Dane. *Who rescued who*

Allison Maynard — Certified Veterinary Technician

Allison joined Animal Health Services in 2013. After 6+ years in pet retail building and a strong foundation in dog training, pet nutrition, management and exotics care, she switched gears and pursued a more fulfilling career in veterinary medicine. She completed her Veterinary Nutritional Advocate certificate in 2014 and is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology for her CVT.

Raised in Tucson, AZ she became a Cave Creek resident in 2011. Her lifelong passion is horses; particularly three-day eventing. She has 15+ years experience riding, training and completing. She shares her home with her brilliant but cheeky Australian Shepherd “Sahara” and her not so brilliant Catahoula/Husky Sidekick “Beau Duke.”

Pam Welsh — Technician

We welcomed Pam to the Animal Health Services team in May of 2008. Her family includes her husband, her son and her 2 dogs, Shelby and Mindy. She is originally from San Diego and enjoys going back to visit friends and family there. She loves spending time with her family going to the beach, taking the boat out to the lake and just enjoying the water, sun, and fun that Arizona summers bring.

Eryn Sikich — Technician

Eryn has been with our team since April of 2021, and has been working with animals for over 20 years. She loves being able to make a positive difference in their lives, and enjoys being able to help owners with any questions or concerns. This field brings her great joy knowing that she’s helped those who can not speak for themselves.

Paige Fredrickson — Veterinary Assistant

Paige Fredrickson has been working in the veterinary industry since 2014. She attended Carrington College and obtained her Veterinary Assistant certificate. She has two dogs, Jimmy her Pitbull and Lambeau her Lab Mix.

Kim Spelman — Veterinary Assistant

Kim was welcomed aboard in February of 2021. Pets have always been a part of her life. Growing up as a child she would find the stray animal that needed help and bring them home. Things did not change as she got older, and she is still fulfilled by helping and nurturing animals. Kim’s current family of pets that she has rescued is her two horses, four dogs, one cat, and two tortoises. Helping animals makes her complete.
