In addition to treating canines and felines, our veterinarians treat reptiles, birds and pocket pets. Whether your unique friend needs a wellness exam, maintenance visit or a diagnostic work-up, we are fully equipped to handle all your pet’s needs.

Animal Health Services of Cave Creek is pleased to have a team of veterinarians and technicians, including Dr. Tanya Wyman and Dr. Simon Starkey, keeping us up-to-date with well-rounded resources in avian and exotics wellness, diagnostic and urgent care services.

Avian Services

Dr. Starkey is a board-certified avian specialist, which means he has extensive training in bird-related health care. You can learn more about how you and your birds benefit by bringing them to an ABVP-certified avian specialist here.

We currently see the following avian pets:

Legally owned birds of prey, cockatoos, macaws, Amazons, African greys, Senegal parrots, Eclectus parrots, conures, lovebirds, parakeets, cockatiels, lories, lorikeets, finches, doves, lorikeets, ducks and canaries

Is your bird not on the list? We do see most large- and medium-sized parrots as well as small companion birds. Give us a call, and we’d be happy to assist you.

Small Mammal Services

We love small mammals and pocket pets! No matter the size of your little friend, routine wellness exams and proper nutrition play a large role in keeping them healthy. In fact, these little ones can become unexpectedly ill, so call us at the first sign of abnormal behavior.

We see the following small mammals:

Rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, guinea pigs, chinchillas, sugar gliders, rats, mice, hamsters and gerbils.

Don’t see your pet on this list? Give us a call, and we’d be happy to assist you.

Other Exotic Animals

Dr. Starkey also treats chickens and nonvenomous reptiles.
