Kate Dial, CVT
Kate joined the AHS team in Oct of 2010. Originally from W. Michigan, Kate moved to Phoenix almost 10 years ago. She was a 4.0 student, class rep and ambassador at Anthem College. She has obtained her associates degree in April of 2012 for her CVT. Kate completed her Veterinary Nutritional Advocacy (VNA) in May of 2011.
She has 2 cats and an ever-changing array of rescue dogs she fosters for “Poverty’s Pets.” Just in the last year she has placed 8 dogs into their new forever homes.
Barbara Hendry, CVT
Barbara has been working in the veterinary field since 2013. She attended Pierpont Community & Technical Collage in Fairmont, WV and graduated in May 2013 with an A.A.S. in veterinary technology. She passed her VTNE in August of 2013 and became an RVT in WV. She moved to Arizona in 2014 and became a CVT in the winter of 2014.
She has always loved animals and can’t imagine life without them. She loves to spend time with her family and 2 rescue dogs; Loula her Corgi/Heeler Mix and Titus her Great Dane. *Who rescued who*
Becca Counter, CVT
Becca joined the AHS team in January of 2017. Originally from Illinois, she attended Jolliet Junior College and also studied to earn her Certified Veterinary Technician Licensure. Additionally, Becca is a Certified Dog Trainer. She has spent 7 years working as a tech, and she states that animals are her most favorite thing ever! She shares her home with 5 pet tortoises and her pup , Luna.
Nancy has been a member of the AHS team since September of 2004, and has worked in the veterinary field for almost 15 years. Along with her husband and son, she shares her home with 1 dog, 1 cat, a desert tortoise, and some fish. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and reading with her son. Nancy has always wanted to work with animals, and she left a career of over 22 years to pursue her dream. She enjoys the challenges that come with the job, and is currently pursuing her CVT license.
Allison joined Animal Health Services in 2013. After 6+ years in pet retail building and a strong foundation in dog training, pet nutrition, management and exotics care, she switched gears and pursued a more fulfilling career in veterinary medicine. She completed her Veterinary Nutritional Advocate certificate in 2014 and is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology for her CVT.
Raised in Tucson, AZ she became a Cave Creek resident in 2011. Her lifelong passion is horses; particularly three-day eventing. She has 15+ years experience riding, training and completing. She shares her home with her brilliant but cheeky Australian Shepherd “Sahara” and her not so brilliant Catahoula/Husky Sidekick “Beau Duke.”
We welcomed Chance to the AHS team in January of 2018. He has been a technician for 9 years and has worked in emergency medicine for several of those years. His first job was as a pet bather and he has worked with animals ever since. He is planning on furthering his education and becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. He has 3 dogs, 2 ferrets and a rabbit that all play together like brothers and sisters!
We welcomed Pam to the Animal Health Services team in May of 2008. Her family includes her husband, her son and her 2 dogs, Shelby and Mindy. She is originally from San Diego and enjoys going back to visit friends and family there. She loves spending time with her family going to the beach, taking the boat out to the lake and just enjoying the water, sun, and fun that Arizona summers bring.
Jess is originally from Southern California and moved to Phoenix in 2012. She is currently in the process of completing her associate’s degree for the CVT program at Penn Foster. She is an avid animal lover and has spent years volunteering for animal rescue groups in both California and Arizona, and she is the proud cat-mom to a group of 5 of the craziest cats she’s ever known – all of whom are rescues!
Paige Fredrickson has been working in the veterinary industry since 2014. She attended Carrington College and obtained her Veterinary Assistant certificate. She has two dogs, Jimmy her Pitbull and Lambeau her Lab Mix.
Hi I’m Madison I am a certified Vet Assistant and I came to Animal health services in early 2016. I got my certification at Carrington College and also have an Associates degree from Paradise Valley Community College. I have a 5-year-old Yorkie-Chihuahua mix also known as a Chorkie named Gus. I got him when he was just 8 weeks old and he’s been my buddy ever since. He is super active and loves to play frisbee. I have always had a love for animals and being in the Veterinary field is always what I have aspired to do as a career. It is a field with many different aspects of opportunity and It is always a joy to come to work and help people and the 4 legged family members that they love. 🙂
Lauren is a Veterinary Assistant who has been with Animal Health Services since 2015. She started here as a kennel tech and has worked her way up in the Urgent Care department. She is now attending school to earn her degree in veterinary technology and become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Lauren has previous experience in large animals from working with horse trainers and equine dentists and has three dogs of her own named Shadow, Nala, and Waffles. She someday hopes to open a rescue to rehabilitate dogs who have been deemed aggressive and need some extra time, love, and care before being able to find a forever home.
Ashley Hanmer, Kennel Technician
Ashley began working at Animal Health Services in 2016. She is an avid pet lover and owner of a 3-year-old Pitbull named Kobe like Kobe Bryant, the basketball player. After working with boarding facilities for 2 years, she joined AHS to eventually become a Vet Technician. Originally from Wisconsin, Ashley rides horses, likes football and loves hiking Arizona mountains. Her favorite trail is Black Mountain in Cave Creek.
Kira Gibbons, Kennel Technician
Kira joined us here at Animal Health Services in July of 2017 and has always had a love for animals. She has decided to turn this passion into a career and hopes to further her formal education in the field of veterinary medicine. She has cared for the family dog as a child and teenager, and over the past two years, she has also fostered 8 Australian Shepherds for the Aussie and Friends Rescue. In addition, she has pet sat many breeds of dogs, horses, birds and a cat for her neighbors and friends. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
